Q. How are the new 3rd editions of the God’s Design science books different from the 2nd editions?

A. There are many significant differences between the 2nd and 3rd editions. All books have been updated and expanded. 

Below is a summary of the major changes:
1.    Student books are now in full color with many additional pictures.
2.    Student books have a new layout making it easier to use and more visually appealing.
3.    God’s Design for Life and God’s Design for Heaven and Earth books now have “Beginner” sections in each lesson specifically designed for teaching 1st and 2nd graders. 
4.    All student books now contain a “Challenge” section in each lesson specifically designed for 6th – 8th graders.
5.    All student books have highlighted vocabulary words in each lesson and a glossary of terms in the back of each book.
6.    Answers to all questions, worksheets, quizzes, and tests have been removed from the student books and placed in the teacher supplement.
7.    Supply lists and lesson planning guides have been removed from the student books and placed in the teacher supplement. 
8.    Student worksheets, quizzes and tests have been removed from the student workbook and placed on a computer CD to allow for easy printing from your computer. No copying of student pages required. Preprinted worksheets, quizzes and tests are also available. 
9.    God’s Design for Chemistry is now God’s Design for Chemistry and Ecology and includes a brand new book called Properties of Ecosystems.


Q. Do I need the teacher supplement and CDs in order to use the student books?

A. Although the student books contain the complete lessons, the teacher supplement contains all of the answers to questions, quizzes and tests as well as supply lists for each lesson and valuable additional resource suggestions. The CD’s contain all of the worksheets, quizzes and tests that are referenced in the student books. You will want these valuable resources.

Q. If I have the 2nd edition books do I need to get the new teacher supplements and CDs to go with them?

A. No, all of the answers, supply lists, worksheets, quizzes and tests that you need are in the 2nd edition books. You will have to make copies out of the book. There is additional material in the 3rd edition books that is included in the teacher supplement and on the CDs, but this new material would not correspond with the 2nd editions.

Q. What are the grade recommendations for the 3rd edition books?

A. The God’s Design for Life and God’s Design For Heaven and Earth books are now appropriate for grades 1-8. They contain 3 different sections for each lesson. A “Beginner” section for grades 1-2, the main lesson for grades 3-8, and a “Challenge” section for grades 6-8.  The God’s Design for Chemistry and Ecology and the God’s Design for the Physical World books are for grades 3-8. They do not contain “Beginner” sections in the lessons. 

Q. How many books do I need to buy for one school year?

A. We recommend that you buy three books, or one series (e.g. God’s Design for Life), for one school year.  If you teach 3 lessons per week you can complete 3 books in 1 school year.
